Insights: CM/ECF 3.2 Release

In the end of April, the U.S. Courts issued a CM/ECF system update—CM/ECF Bankruptcy Release 3.2.

Best Case Solutions worked diligently to make sure Best Case Bankruptcy works properly with the new release, CM/ECF 3.2. Currently most courts are running CM/ECF 3.1.7, but Best Case electronically files with both systems.

According to a June 2008 news release issued by the Federal U.S. Bankruptcy Court web site, CM/ECF systems are now in use in 99% of the federal courts: 94 district courts, 93 bankruptcy courts, the Court of International Trade, the Court of Federal Claims, the nine courts of appeals, and four Bankruptcy Appellate Panels. Most of these courts are accepting electronic filings. Almost 32 million cases are on CM/ECF systems, and more than 320,000 attorneys and others have filed documents over the Internet.

Online Tools: Quick Median Income Test

In four easy steps, discover if a debtor is above or below the median income level.

  1. Select the debtor’s state of residence
  2. Enter household size
  3. Supply the average gross monthly income
  4. Click compare

The results display a comparison to the state’s Median Income Amount for the household size entered, the debtor’s Gross Yearly Income (Pre-Tax) and the difference between the two. If the debtor is below the median, the result is in green, and if he is over the median the result is in red.
